MEET THE ARTIST

Influenced by exploring the abstract geographies that we navigate in our daily lives, Julianne utilizes the color palettes, forms, and figures that make up the views of everyday life. Geometric shapes of color live in harmony with abstract washes of dye. Built up layers of depth grounded in empty fields of raw, untouched canvas, create textures of interest. Much like life mistakes are made, scratched out, or left unhidden. These traces are notions of connection. Working from intuition and response, Julianne uncovers interactions revealing things unseen and unfolding a developing connection with time.

Julianne was born and raised in Aiken, South Carolina. She obtained a BA in Fine Art from the University of South Carolina, and now works out of her home studio in Charlotte, North Carolina.
